Our top scoring lot is a Lempira variety with an unexpected profile. Starting with the signature floral aroma found in most of our high scoring lots, this bean offers additional delicate fruity hints and the exciting flavor profile tthat includes, Papaya and passionfruit or as we call it here maracuya with more citrus fruits and honey. The cup has a vibrant and alive acidity, well balanced with a sweet and prolonged finish. The cupping of this coffee was truly exciting for all our established graders and also for the Farm owner, Virjilo Hernandez. Imagine Mr. Hernandez usually sells this coffee under market price to intermediaries and it gets mixed in with conventional coffee before it makes it way out of Honduras. So glad we found it!
Virjilo Hernandez was paid USD $3.00/lb for this coffee.
